As part of the IB Program, Al Madina Schools organized a special activity “Service as Action” for Common core students with the guidance of the first and the second Baccalaureate students led by one of our most proficient students in Computer Science, Ayoub Barkaoui. This was done as a training to reinforce the students coding skills in Python. In this activity, we focused on developing skills related to graphical interfaces as well as python functions so that students will be able to build an ergonomic and visually pleasing app consisting of a “To-Do List”. Throughout which they learnt, practiced and applied their acquired knowledge coupled with new concepts concerning functions. As a result, Common core students are now perfectly trained to analyse the logical structure of several programs as well as to create various apps.
All in all, this action was by far one of the most successful activities among the “Service & Action” approach. Consequently, we are eager to organize many other training sessions.
